Study of the Potential of La/Bi2S3 Catalyst for Photodegradation of Acid Yellow 42 Dye under Visible Light

The new catalyst (La/Bi2S3) applies for the photodegradation of Acid Yellow 42 (AY42) dye under visible light in this study. La/Bi2S3 material is motivating due to excellent ability Lanthanum (La) increase adsorption capacity and electron-hole separation Bi2S3 enhancing degradation AY42. characterization analysis prepared confirms a successful synthesis using hydrothermal method. efficiency AY42 higher than pure Bi2S3. La on (doped at 3%), which devised (40.24%) (51.86%), has best (92.1%). trapping experiment electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra explain that hydroxyl radical most active species photocatalytic process total decreasing from 92.1% 57.16% by scavenger isopropyl alcohol (IPA). hole (h+) shows its importance detecting OH- intermediate species. also photostability reusability test. Finally, result suitable doping metal interesting practical application light. La/Bi2S3is 3% weight optimum 92.1%, (51.86%). (46.7%) contains 17.1% 29.6% photodegradation.
